The Jewish Czulent Association in partnership with the American Jewish Committee Central Europe, the Jewish Community in Łódź, the Jewish Community in Warsaw and the Jewish Community in Wrocław organized a Nationwide Conference of Jewish Organizations entitled “Contemporary challenges facing the Jewish community in Poland.” The event received the patronage of the Union of Jewish Religious Communities in Poland and the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Poland. The conference was financed with funds of the Jewish Czulent Association, Kenneth Slater, the Stefan Batory Foundation and American Jewish Committee Central Europe, with non-financial support of the Commissioner for Human Rights and ODIHR Office of the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE.
The conference was held on 2nd and 3rd April, in Warsaw, in the Office of the Ombudsman and in the ODIHR Office of the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE. The meeting was attended by members and board members of Jewish religious communities and Jewish non-governmental organizations.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss:
- challenges facing the Jewish community;
- the possibilities of forming a coalition;
- possibilities of cooperation between the Jewish community and public administration.
