The representative of the Jewish Association Czulent, Ruta Śpiewak, participated in a meeting organized by the Ombudsman and the Team for Equal Treatment in the Office of the Ombudsman. It was devoted to the rights of national and ethnic minorities in the field of culture.
The Czulent Jewish Association has presented the following recommendations to the Adam Bodnar, Commissioner for Human Rights in Poland:
- Developing a support strategy that treats minority heritage as part of the culture of Poland. Establishment of an interdisciplinary team comprising representatives of minorities and experts from the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Ministry of National Education. Such a team could indicate not only guidelines for future competitions but also changes in the education system.
- Support for projects renewing the heritage of minority cultures – that is activities that build the identity of individual minority groups. The possibility of additional points for the aforementioned tasks in state institutes whose aim is to support the culture like the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Book Institute etc
- Concentration on long-term programs and projects. Finding a balance between the organization of large festivals and smaller events with a longer duration, between activities presenting culture and activities development of cultural activity.
