The Jewish Association Czulent organized the conference ‘Countering Antisemitism in Poland: Integrating Efforts and Cooperation,’ which took place on April 15 at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.<\/p>\n\n
The main aim of the conference was to discuss strategies for combating antisemitism in Poland, particularly hate speech and hate crimes. During the event, the report \u201cAntisemitic Incidents in 2023: A Study of the Experiences of the Jewish Community\u201d was presented, providing up-to-date data on the scale of the problem. <\/p>\n\n
The conference featured two expert panels. The first, \u201cBias-Motivated Violence: The Importance of Local-Level Responses,\u201d focused on the role of local authorities and municipal policies in combating antisemitism. The second panel, \u201cEffective Responses to Hate Crimes,\u201d addressed legal developments, including amendments to the Criminal Code and the implementation of the Digital Services Act, as well as support for victims of hate crimes. <\/p>\n\n
Speakers included representatives of the Commissioner for Human Rights, legal organisations, judicial associations, and local authorities. The conference aimed not only to diagnose key challenges but also to map out future actions, strengthen legal protection mechanisms, and promote openness and social dialogue. <\/p>\n\n
The meeting was held as part of the project \u201cSecuring Our Community, Protecting Our Democracy: Combating Antisemitism through an Integrated Approach to Advocacy and Security,\u201d co-funded by the European Union.
