“Promoting Religious Freedom And Combating Anti-Semitism”
Transforming Advocacy: Third Regional Conference on Collaborative Approaches for Change “Promoting Religious Freedom And Combating Anti-Semitism” was held in Krakow from the 24th till the 26th of November. This event was organized by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), an international organization committed to advancing democracy worldwide since 1983.
The “Promoting Religious Freedom And Combating Anti-Semitism” initiative has been funded by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, and focuses on inspiring innovative strategies in non-governmental organizations of Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia, engaged in combating acts of discrimination and intolerance. Its aim is to promote tolerance and openness for ethnic, national and religious minorities in Central- Eastern European societies. During workshops, representatives of minorities shared their experiences with advocating for their cause. Conversations about shared challenges helped in creating joint strategies for combating acts of intolerance.
During the conference, a representative of the Jewish Association Czulent, Anna Chipczyńska, presented the results of the report conducted by the Association- Monitoring and reporting exercise 2023/24 . The report constitutes the first round of evaluation of the Digital Services Act (DSA), also known as Regulation 2022/2065, which entered into force in the European Union on February 17, 2024. As part of the six-month study, we took actions aimed at checking whether and when hateful content of an anti-Semitic nature is removed by international and Polish IT services.
